Raventós de Alella Blanc Allier 2019 originates from the oldest vineyards of the Can Matons estate, owned by the Catalan winery. A vineyard where Chardonnay shines with its own light, producing a low yield of grapes with excellent quality and concentration. The result is a delicate and highly elegant white wine, with pleasant aromas of flowers, creamy wood, and hints of aromatic herbs. A unique wine that anticipates a magnificent evolution in the bottle.

General Information

Raventós de Alella Blanc Allier 2019 is a remarkable white wine crafted under a philosophy of respect for the raw material and the typicity of the terroir that gives it life. A single-varietal of the foreign variety chardonnay from a single plot in the town of Alella (Barcelona), with very low yields that enabled the production of fruits with immense concentration and quality.

A manual harvest in small boxes preceded a vinification that began with the pressing of the whole grape. Half of the resulting must was macerated cold with its own skins to maintain the primary aromas as much as possible. After that, a very slow fermentation started at a controlled temperature, with half of the wine in French oak barrels and the remaining half in stainless steel tanks.

This barrel-fermented white is an example of the great adaptation of chardonnay to the terroir of the D.O. Alella. Raventós de Alella Blanc Allier 2019 is a wine that pairs with foie, white meats, aged cheeses, veal, oily fish, and a multitude of stews.

Tasting notes

Straw yellow color with golden iridescence, very bright. Notable for its glyceric density.

Clean aromas on the nose, with floral notes and hints of creamy wood and fine lees.

On the palate, it stands out for its excellent entry, with an elegant, creamy touch and a hint of oak smoke. Notes of aromatic herbs caused by the lees appear.
