El origen de La Poda Garnacha 2021 está en viñedos de garnacha localizados en Rioja Oriental. Se trata de la subzona más oriental de la denominación, con mayor influencia mediterránea, un clima más cálido y seco, y suelos formados por sedimentación y secado de antiguas zonas fluviales, condiciones ideales para la uva garnacha.
Las viñas, con 30 años de antigüedad, se extienden a los pies de Laguardia, entre la Sierra de Cantabria y el Ebro. Vendimia manual y fermentación en depósitos de acero inoxidable a temperatura controlada y maceración en frío.
Bodegas Palacio fue fundada por Cosme Palacio en 1894 en Laguardia. A lo largo de su trayectoria ha combinado con acierto tradición e innovación, y hoy sigue en la parte alta de la pirámide de calidad con etiquetas muy reconocidas, como Cosme Palacio o Glorioso.
La Poda Garnacha 2021 (D.O.Ca. Rioja) es un vino muy versátil Perfecto para combinar con infinidad de platos e incluso aperitivos sin comida. Nos gusta especialmente con ragú de ternera, cordero asado o estofados.

Rubí brillante. Despliega en la copa un perfume a fruta roja y negra combinada con notas florales y toques de frutos rojos. Vino de paso amable y fácil. Lleno de sabor y bien equilibrado en boca.
The winery
Bodegas Cosme Palacio is one of the most historic wineries in Laguardia, the heart of Rioja Alavesa, and one of those that has best adapted to modern times. It was founded in 1894 by Cosme Palacio y Bermejillo, a well-known businessman and politician from Bilbao—he served as a provincial deputy and president of the Chamber of Commerce of the Vizcaya capital—who, unintentionally, completely revolutionized the Rioja wine sector. After studying enology in Montpellier and alongside the winemaker Domingo Garramiola, Cosme Palacio traveled to Valbuena de Duero to continue experimenting.
Years later, Cosme Palacio returned to Rioja determined to apply the Bordeaux winemaking techniques he had learned in France, while Domingo stayed in the lands of Valladolid to take charge of one of the most promising wineries in the area: Vega Sicilia. During the 1980s, the winery decided to undertake a process of enological modernization with the help of the Frenchman Michel Rolland, who was already considered one of the best winemakers in the world. Rolland reinterpreted the winery’s most iconic brand, Cosme Palacio y Hermanos, transforming it into the first modern wine of Rioja, a pioneer of the so-called ‘signature wines’ and ‘high expression wines.’
The acquisition of the winery by the powerful Hijos de Antonio Barceló group in 1998 turned Bodegas Palacio into one of the most modern companies in the Rioja wine industry. Today, it is part of the group Entrecanales Domecq e Hijos.
