The Petit Caus range was born with the aim of offering a class of honest wines for a wider audience. Petit Caus 2023 belongs to this range of fresh, organic, and authentic wines for all palates and situations, designed for enjoyment. The wine in question is a coupage of syrah, cabernet franc, and merlot varieties from vineyards located in the heart of the Garraf massif (Barcelona). It is a very interesting red from Penedés with well-balanced fruit, alcohol, and acidity.
Carlos Esteva founded Can Ràfols dels Caus in 1979. With it, a winery and a life project were born, which meant a revolution for Penedés itself. Esteva regenerated the exploitation of his own vineyards, introducing new grape varieties and cultivation methods. This was a clear commitment to wine excellence, placing the winery where it deserves, with its own identity recognized worldwide.
Petit Caus 2023 is a young red wine from the D.O. Penedés that is fermented separately according to the grape variety, without adding selected yeasts. It is aged in underground tanks and bottled without the interference of wood. Petit Caus is an eminently fruity and fresh wine ideal for accompanying dishes of vegetables, eggs, white meats, salads, and cold cuts.

Clean and suggestive nose, it presents aromas full of flowers (violets) and lots of red fruit along with light notes of fresh and spicy herbs.
On the palate, it is very fresh, lively, and very fruity. Good fruit load also in the mouthfeel, which is light, tasty, dry, and very pleasant. With well-balanced acidity and alcohol and an acceptable finish.
The Can Ràfols Dels Caus winery was founded in 1979 with the arrival of Carlos Esteva to his grandfather's estate of the same name. Esteva's arrival at the estate marked a revolution, as he regenerated the exploitation of its vineyards by introducing new varieties and cultivation methods aimed at achieving quality, giving the wines a unique character and the winery its own identity.
After several decades in the wine sector, Carlos Esteva continues to stand out for his extensive knowledge of the wine world. He has been nominated by the renowned Académie Internationale du vin. Additionally, he has created countless references at Can Ràfols Dels Caus and is involved in other projects such as Mas Oller in Empordà and Can Camps.
In a unique and singular environment, the wines of Can Ràfols Dels Caus are born in soils with a significant limestone mass located at the southernmost end of the Litoral mountain range, bordered by the Penedès plains and the Mediterranean Sea.
25 years after Carlos Esteva took the reins of Can Ràfols Dels Caus, he decided to build a new winery with the aim of improving operations, expanding qualitative potential, and continuing research.
Carlos Esteva seeks to produce great wines that express the nuances of their terroir. For him, exceptional wines have that something that goes beyond what we are capable of perceiving through the eyes, nose, and palate.
