Parada de Atauta 2021 is the gateway to Dominio de Atauta, one of the most interesting and unique wineries in Ribera del Duero, located in the Atauta Valley (Soria), at almost 1000 m altitude. A very fruity red wine, with an incredibly smooth and elegant palate.

General Information
Parada de Atauta 2021 is made from a selection of very old Tempranillo vines, 90 to 120 years old, located between 950 and 1000 m altitude on sandy soils with pebbles, optimal for better ripening and greater fruit intensity. It was vinified in concrete and stainless steel tanks. Afterwards, it underwent malolactic fermentation in wooden vats and finally aged for 14 months in French oak barrels (20% new and 85% used) and 2 months in 5200-liter wooden vats.
Founded in the year 2000 in a unique location - the Atauta Valley (Soria), at 1000 m altitude - the Dominio de Atauta winery has quickly established itself as one of the most brilliant in Ribera del Duero. Its wines receive high scores in the most influential international publications.
The facilities of Dominio de Atauta are built on a slope, at different heights to take advantage of gravity in the winemaking process and avoid pumping. In the same Atauta Valley lies its vineyard, divided into more than 500 small plots on different types of soils, benefiting from an extreme climate and slow ripening. These are valuable pre-phylloxera and centenarian vines that provide low yields of high quality. Additionally, the winery is committed to traditional and sustainable viticulture: only organic products are used, and all tasks are carried out manually.
Parada de Atauta 2021 is a Ribera del Duero ideal for pairing with roasted lamb and kid, meat rice dishes, and mushroom stews.

Vivo color cereza picota con reflejos violáceos. Intenso aroma de fruta roja fresca con notas de violetas, tomillo y romero. En la boca destaca por su frescura y sedosidad que acompañan una buena concentración de fruta roja y negra madura envueltos en taninos increíblemente sedosos con un final de boca mineral y fresco.
The winery
Located in the province of Soria, near the eastern edge of the D.O. Ribera del Duero, Dominio de Atauta has been producing some of the best red wines of the region since the year 2000, crafted from vines aged between 60 and 160 years, many of them pre-phylloxera and with low -but outstanding- yields. The quality of its vineyard (23 hectares of its own vines and as many controlled), the uniqueness of the area where it is located -the Atauta Valley, at almost a thousand meters above sea level- and the unwavering commitment to biodynamics result in exceptional wines with a distinctive personality.
Part of the Terraselecta group, which encompasses eight wineries at the national level, Dominio de Atauta is one of the most representative members of the society thanks to its remarkable work in the Atauta Valley, on the eastern limits of the D.O. Ribera del Duero. A winery integrated into its surroundings and built on four levels of rock, allowing gravity to facilitate tasks during the winemaking process.
