General Information

Ondea Crianza 2019 is made from Tempranillo (chiefly), Garnacha and Mazuelo grapes grown on vineyards in the San Asensio municipality in the Rioja Alta subzone. After harvesting the grapes when they were at their ripest, both types of fermentation took place in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature. The wine was then aged for 12 to 16 months in American and East European Bordeaux barrels.

After being further matured in the bottle, this red Crianza was released. Its nose preserves its youthful aromas of red fruit, strawberries, cherries and dairy hints, which blend with the aromas from ageing in wood, such as vanilla, coffee and tobacco. Moreish on the attack, full-bodied, medium-high acidity and smooth tannins that give it length. Strong presence of fruit and flavours from barrel ageing.

Bodegas Perica is a traditional, century-old family firm located in the municipality of San Asensio. It’s run by David García (Perica is the nickname he inherited from his grandfather) and is supplied by more than 150 hectares of its own vineyards in the Rioja Alta subzone. The varieties it grows include the traditional native Rioja grapes, chiefly Tempranillo.

Ondea Crianza 2019 (D.O.Ca. Rioja) is perfect with beef dishes such as grilled sirloin cap.
