General Information

Oinoz Verdejo 2025 comes from the La Buitrera vineyard in Pozaldez, integrated into the D.O. Rueda and produced from own vineyards located on a plot with alluvial soils. This 100% monovarietal Verdejo reflects the typicity of the estate and the traceability of the cultivation in ownership, with viticulture aimed at controlling grape quality from vineyard to winery.

Regarding its production, Oinoz Verdejo 2025 is vinified incorporating indigenous yeasts that add personality to the fermentation; additionally, its texture and volume are due to aging on lees, which imparts richness and enhances fruity notes and anisette nuances that can be perceived in the nose.

Oinoz Verdejo 2025 is signed by Bodega CM de Matarromera, which develops this reference by emphasising its own vineyards within the D.O. Rueda and winery practices aimed at expressing the landscape's identity and the variety. The winery integrates the use of indigenous yeasts and aging on lees as part of its approach to typicity and respect for the raw material.

Oinoz Verdejo 2025 is highly versatile for food pairing: it works as an aperitif and complements dishes such as game bird stews, fish, shellfish, smoked foods, pasta, rice dishes, and salads, taking advantage of its freshness, texture, and aromatic profile to match dishes with varying intensity.

Tasting notes

Appearance: Straw yellow colour with greenish reflections.

Nose: Intense and clean aromas with anisated hints of fennel and thyme, combined with tropical fruit (pineapple) and citrus (grapefruit).

Palate: Medium-high structure, very velvety and rounded due to its lees ageing.

The winery

Bodega CM de Matarromera
Founded in 2014 in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, Bodega CM de Matarromera (D.O.Ca. Rioja) is another remarkable project by the renowned Castilian-Leonese winemaker Carlos Moro, owner of Bodegas Familiares Matarromera. This venture was born from Carlos Moro's desire to expand Bodegas Familiares Matarromera and become part of a denomination of origin as prestigious and iconic as Rioja (prior to the creation of Bodega CM de Matarromera, Bodegas Familiares Matarromera included only wineries within the denominations of origin influenced by the Duero River).

A business project aimed at producing high-end wines and sharing the philosophy upon which Bodegas Familiares Matarromera is founded: innovation, respect for sustainability and the environment, and the pursuit of the highest quality. Bodega CM de Matarromera owns 30 hectares of its own vineyards distributed across various plots located in San Vicente de la Sonsierra and Labastida, as well as 60 controlled hectares situated in these towns and Ábalos.

The winery's facilities feature an impressive 300-meter-long underground cellar that houses 2,000 American and French oak barrels. Currently, Bodega CM de Matarromera produces the brands CM and Oinoz (D.O.Ca. Rioja). Additionally, this initiative also includes other select estate wines from symbolic vineyards in other denominations of origin, such as Toro, Rueda, Ribera del Duero, and Cigales.
