Consumption features
Pairing
Oinoz Reserva 2018 offers a refined and understated pairing, with the sello of Tempranillo from San Vicente de la Sonsierra and an elegance that calls for slow-cooked dishes. It pairs very well with patatas a la riojana, pochas and cocido, as well as stews and meat casseroles. It also pairs well with roasted red meats and white meats with sauce, where its freshness, balance and spicy notes find a good contrast.
Oinoz Reserva 2018 stands out for its refined and elegant ageing. After a long rest in French oak barrels, the wine underwent a lengthy bottle ageing before reaching the market, which helped to polish its structure, add roundness and strengthen its complexity.
Vineyard
Description
Oinoz Reserva 2018 reaches a Rioja expression of great intensity, elegance and complexity. It originates from San Vicente de la Sonsierra, at the northern end of the D.O.Ca. Rioja, on calcareous and fresh soils that reinforce its pronounced mineral character and the memory of terroir. The vines, over 40 years old and goblet-trained, offer limited yields and small-sized berries, originating from the estates El Roble, El Codo, Gallocanta and La Vizcarra. The 2018 vintage was Atlantic, humid and moderate, with a long cycle and slow ripening that favoured fresh, complex and highly expressive wines. It is produced exclusively from Tempranillo.

Founded in 2014 in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, Bodega CM de Matarromera (D.O.Ca. Rioja) is another remarkable project by the renowned Castilian-Leonese winemaker Carlos Moro, owner of Bodegas Familiares Matarromera. This venture was born from Carlos Moro's desire to expand Bodegas Familiares Matarromera and become part of a denomination of origin as prestigious and iconic as Rioja (prior to the creation of Bodega CM de Matarromera, Bodegas Familiares Matarromera included only wineries within the denominations of origin influenced by the Duero River).
A business project aimed at producing high-end wines and sharing the philosophy upon which Bodegas Familiares Matarromera is founded: innovation, respect for sustainability and the environment, and the pursuit of the highest quality. Bodega CM de Matarromera owns 30 hectares of its own vineyards distributed across various plots located in San Vicente de la Sonsierra and Labastida, as well as 60 controlled hectares situated in these towns and Ábalos.
The winery's facilities feature an impressive 300-meter-long underground cellar that houses 2,000 American and French oak barrels. Currently, Bodega CM de Matarromera produces the brands CM and Oinoz (D.O.Ca. Rioja). Additionally, this initiative also includes other select estate wines from symbolic vineyards in other denominations of origin, such as Toro, Rueda, Ribera del Duero, and Cigales.
