Montelliana Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 comes from the D.O.C. Montello Asolo, a small appellation within Veneto (Italy), which boasts only 80 hectares of vineyards. Here, the protagonists are red grapes of French origin, which have found a suitable habitat in these northern Italian lands to express themselves. As evidence, this is a young, straightforward wine with good acidity and a vibrant character, offering an interesting alternative within a region dominated by whites.
Montelliana Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 is made 100% from the cabernet sauvignon grape, the leading variety alongside cabernet franc in the small D.O.C. Montello Asolo. This denomination, located in the Veneto region, specializes in producing red wines with grape varieties that are exceptionally well-adapted to the territory.
Founded in 1957, Cantina Montelliana is a wine cooperative situated in the heart of the Marca Trevigiana, at the foothills of the Asolo Hills and the Montello area, in northeastern Italy. It was born from the dream of a group of visionary winegrowers who, during challenging times, committed to collective work and respect for the land. Today, it consists of 400 members who own no less than 750 hectares of vineyards. This extensive heritage allows them to harvest high-quality grapes every year.
The identity of Cantina Montelliana is rooted in typicity, a strong connection to the land, and respect for a region rich in winemaking tradition and culture. The Asolo Hills, located in the Alta Marca Trevigiana, provide the perfect balance of climate and soil, resulting in wines with a unique and unmistakable organoleptic profile. Although the winery is best known for its excellence in producing Prosecco, it also crafts high-quality white and red wines.
The red Montelliana Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 (D.O.C. Montello Asolo) pairs wonderfully with roasted sea bream or a creamy lobster rice dish.
Beautiful ripe cherry red color with an intense garnet rim.
On the nose, it displays, with high aromatic intensity, clear notes of red fruits in jam (cherries and plums), spicy hints (black pepper), complex floral aromas, all over a subtle balsamic background (black licorice and mint) and cocoa.
On the palate, it stands out for its savoriness and an excellent fruit load, tannins of excellent quality, very varietal and of great maturity, coating the palate with great balance. Very good finish with freshness and abundant fruity memories.
