Elegant and creamy, Montecillo Edición Limitada Garnacha Blanca 2022 is the result of the innovative vision of Mercedes García Rupérez. The winemaker of Bodegas Montecillo reinterprets the legacy of the Rioja winery, bringing it closer to a more contemporary profile. A 100% garnacha blanca that, after 7 months of aging in oak bocoyes alongside its lees, reveals itself as broad and seductive, with a very complex nose, well-balanced acidity, and a pleasant mineral finish.

El Barranco del Cora, located at an altitude of 590 meters in the Alhama River valley, is home to the vineyard that nurtures the wine Montecillo Garnacha Blanca Edición Limitada 2022. White Garnacha vines cultivated on alluvial soils with sandy deposits, deep and porous, have given this single-varietal its fresh and mineral character.
Bodegas Montecillo produces this white wine through a unique maceration process and gentle pressing. The free-run juice ferments in raw cement tanks, where it remains with its lees for approximately 5 months. It is then transferred to new French oak casks for a 7-month aging process, with battonage of the cap every two days, until its development is complete. The process concludes with bottling and resting in the winery's underground cellars for 6 months to refine its profile.
Montecillo Garnacha Blanca Edición Limitada 2022 is a broad and silky white wine from Rioja, with great varietal expression, perfect for pairing with all kinds of fish, seafood, or seafood rice dishes.
Bodegas Montecillo was founded in 1870 by Celestino Navajas Matute, being the oldest winery in the municipality of Fuenmayor and the third oldest winery of the D.O.Ca. Rioja. Since 1973, Montecillo has belonged to the Osborne Family, and today it has become one of the benchmarks for long-aged wines. It produces the Clásica range (Crianza, Reserva, Gran Reserva, a white and a rosé), signature wines, and the Viña Monty range, which represents the most avant-garde winemaking trend of the centenary winery, committed to traditional production with a renewed approach.
Bodegas Montecillo has underground cellars that house vintages dating back to 1926, as well as an impressive manual bottle rack.
