General Information

Moët & Chandon Impérial Brut is one of the most consumed wines on the planet and one of the brands with the most followers in history. It is crafted from more than 100 different wines, of which 20-30% are reserve wines specially selected to enhance its maturity and complexity.

Its varietal composition includes the three typical champagne grapes: the red pinot noir (30-40%) and pinot meunier (30-40%), and the white chardonnay (20-30%). It has an aging of 24 months, and after disgorgement, it remained at least 3 more months in the cellar before being released to the market.

An exemplary champagne produced by one of the oldest houses in the region, located on the historic Avenue de Champagne in Épernay. Moët & Chandon Impérial Brut is dedicated to Napoleon. The famous French emperor, enamored with this champagne, was the one who spread its fame throughout Europe. Years later, the Épernay winery decided to name the brand in his honor. Today, Moët & Chandon has no rival in the world, and its fame continues to grow day by day.

Moët & Chandon Impérial Brut (A.O.C. Champagne) pairs perfectly with sushi, scallops, oysters, white fish, and white meats (for example, free-range roasted chicken with its juices and fine herbs).

Creators' opinion

The winery

The Moët house was founded in 1743 in Épernay by Claude Moët, a counselor from Reims who, within a few years, managed to have his champagne exported to more than half of Europe. His son, Jean Rémy, was the true driving force behind a brand that by the end of the century was not only Napoleon's favorite but also that of all the royal houses of the Old Continent.

Currently, Moët & Chandon belongs to the Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy group, along with Dom Pérignon, the legendary champagne that Moët has been producing since 1921. Both brands are associated with luxury, glamour, and exclusivity, despite the fact that today the house produces nearly 26 million bottles. Moët & Chandon is, without a doubt, the maison that shines the brightest on Épernay's historic Avenue de Champagne.
