A new chapter in Ribera del Duero with the hallmark of Marqués de Cáceres
Marqués de Cáceres presents a surprising red wine from the heart of Ribera del Duero. A wine that breaks the mold and expands the legacy of one of Rioja's most renowned wineries. Limited production, privileged origin, and artisanal craftsmanship for a Crianza that only a few will be able to enjoy. You won’t find it anywhere else!
Marqués de Cáceres Selección Especial Crianza 2020 is born from the ambitious project of the Forner family in Ribera del Duero, where in 2019 they acquired the prestigious Finca La Capilla, located in Roa, near the most coveted vineyards of La Horra and Anguix. This second exclusive vintage for Vinoselección is made with tinta del país from selected plots among the 60 hectares of the estate. The manual harvest, fermentation with native yeasts, and 18 months of aging in French oak barrels (new and single-use) result in a deep, elegant wine with a Ribera soul.
Produced with very low yields and on a mosaic of poor soils with limestone veins, this red wine reflects the minerality and structure characteristic of the area. The 2020 vintage, rated as Excellent in Ribera del Duero, allowed for a slow and balanced ripening, which translates into a complex nose with black fruit, spices, and balsamic notes.
Marqués de Cáceres Selección Especial Crianza 2020 is the perfect companion for beef cheeks in red wine or roasted suckling lamb, dishes that enhance its noble character and depth.
Tasting notes
Cherry red color with garnet hues, of good depth.
On the nose, it is perceived with good intensity and complexity, highlighting aromas of ripe red fruit alongside spicy, smoky notes and a pleasant background of aromatic herbs.
Balanced, pleasant, flavorful, with an aromatic palate, good fruity character, freshness, and fine tannins. The finish is persistent with spicy and lactic notes.
Having recently celebrated half a century of history, Marqués de Cáceres presents itself as a winery that markets its creations in over 150 countries and stands as one of the best ambassadors of Spanish wines. The wine group led by Cristina Forner has recently launched a new initiative in Roa de Duero, Bodegas Finca La Capilla, where, with the Tempranillo variety as its flagship, they captivate us with the endless resources of the region's emblematic grape outside its native Rioja.
