Marimar Estate Tempranillo 2018 is the first red wine made with the Spanish variety tempranillo from the Torres vineyards in Green Valley (Russian River Valley, California, USA). In this area, with more fog presence and the coldest climate of the Russian River, the tempranillo planted in goblet training in the Don Miguel vineyard thrives, resulting in an expressive red wine that displays classic varietal aromas (blueberries, plums, blackberries) well integrated with the notes contributed by its aging in oak. Round and intense, with soft and firm tannins that promise good bottle aging.

Marimar Estate Tempranillo 2018 is the first Tempranillo from the Californian winery Marimar Torres. A red wine made from vines of the queen red variety of the Spanish territory, cultivated by the Torres group in their vineyards in Green Valley, the coldest area of the Russian River Valley, just 15 km from the Pacific Ocean.
After years of experimentation to test the adaptation of Tempranillo to the Californian terroir, Marimar Estate Vineyards & Winery decided to expand a vineyard that today has one hectare of the most emblematic Spanish variety. From these vines, whose production was initially destined for the American market, comes Marimar Estate Tempranillo 2018, a red wine of great complexity and aromatic intensity, obtained from hand-selected clusters, destemmed and fermented in small stainless steel tanks with native yeasts, and aged for 10 months in French oak barrels (50% new). After being bottled without filtering or clarifying, the result is a Tempranillo that perfectly integrates the fruit with the spicy and toasted notes from its time in wood; a red wine from the Russian River Valley that promises a long life.
