Terra de Falanis is a venture belonging to group of grape grower friends in love with the terroir and native varieties, who have already left their mark in interesting wineries like Ànima Negra in Mallorca. Their aim in Llenca Plana 2020 is to express the potential of the Cariñena variety in the area best suited to its cultivation, Serra d’Almos (Montsant). It’s a modern-style wine with personality and great quality, especially at this price. Fresh, long and easy to drink, it’s a red that makes you come back for more.

Llenca Plana 2020 (meaning ‘flat stone’) is named after the type of soil where the vines grow in a Mediterranean ecosystem in the Serra d’Almos, surrounded by olive and cherry trees that provide unique characteristics. It’s a perfect habitat where Cariñena, the main variety used, attains full expression, while Garnacha, which accounts for 30% of the blend, lends it magnificent acidity. Careful sorting of the grapes by hand was key to achieving this unique wine.
Fermentation was carried out in 10,000-litre stainless steel vats for 6 days at a controlled temperature of 25°C using yeast selected by the vineyards to ensure full respect for the expression of the grapes. A 6-month stint in barrels used 3 times by Ànima Negra in Mallorca has enhanced its characteristics. It displays notes of black fruit with balsamic touches and hints of black olives and scrubland. Fresh, long on the palate and easy to drink.
