The prestigious Livio Felluga winery produces Livio Felluga Merlot 2017 from merlot grapes grown on marl and sand soils. Its production began with manual harvesting in small boxes and transporting the fruit to the winery, where they were destemmed and gently pressed. After maceration in contact with the skins, the fermentation of the must took place at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. Frequent pumping over was carried out for three weeks to extract the color and aroma from the skins, with several rackings performed, and the resulting wine underwent mixed aging in stainless steel and small oak barrels for one year. An additional nine months in the bottle for refinement resulted in a red wine that is enveloping, lively, and captivating thanks to its juicy texture and aromatic harmony.
Livio Felluga is a prestigious winery located in northeastern Italy. It was founded in the mid-20th century by Livio Felluga himself, one of the great names in Italian wine, a promoter of the wines from the Friuli hills, and a pioneer of viticulture in the Rosazzo area.
