La prestigiosa bodega Livio Felluga elabora Livio Felluga Merlot 2020 a partir de uvas de la variedad merlot procedentes de viñedos cultivados sobre suelos de marga y arena. Su elaboración comenzó con una vendimia manual en cajas pequeñas y el traslado de los frutos a bodega, donde se despalillaron y se sometieron a un suave prensado. Tras la maceración en contacto con los hollejos, la fermentación del mosto tuvo lugar, a temperatura controlada, en tanques de acero inoxidable. Se bombeó con frecuencia durante tres semanas para extraer el color y aroma de las pieles, realizándose varios trasiegos, y el vino obtenido realizó una crianza mixta en acero inoxidable y en pequeñas barricas de roble, durante un año. Nueve meses más en botella para su afinamiento resultaron en un tinto envolvente, vivo y cautivador gracias a su textura jugosa y su armonía aromática.

Nariz intensa y potente donde la apertura es tentadoramente crujiente con sensaciones de frutas y flores: arándano, geranio, cereza negra, clavel, mora, frambuesa, orquídea, ciruela, popurrí fresco, loto. Evoluciona con toques especiados y balsámicos: pimienta blanca, vainilla, regaliz, cilantro, menta, café, manteca de cacao y toques de madera que realzan la profundidad del perfil aromático.
Boca con gran armonía de aromas: fruta roja, cereza negra, frambuesa, cereza blanca, flores carnosas. Paso de boca jugoso y vibrante. Envolvente y vivo, con una suave astringencia. Notas tostadas y especiadas perduran en un final con toques balsámicos.

The story of the Livio Felluga winery is the story of a man and his love for the unique land surrounding the northeastern tip of the Adriatic, where the Mediterranean meets Central Europe. A place that over the years has changed borders several times and witnessed wars unfold. Livio Felluga moved in the late 1930s to settle in the surroundings of the Rosazzo hills (Italy) with the dream of producing mountain wines. However, this dream was interrupted when he was called to the front in World War II.
Livio Felluga returned to the Friulian countryside to restore, with great effort and hard work, the vineyards of Rosazzo and plant new ones, convinced that only quality cultivation could bring life back to this area. In the 1950s, he introduced innovative ideas and methods and founded the winery that bears his name: Livio Felluga. For all these reasons, Livio Felluga is recognized with the unofficial title of ‘refounder’ and ‘patriarch’ of the Friulian winemaking tradition.
The forward-thinking vision of the founder and alma mater of this Italian winery, focused on knowledge, respect for the land, and an obsession with quality, is passed on to his children, who currently manage the winery. Of the 242 hectares of the estate, 187 are dedicated to vine cultivation. 320 plots are part of a complex ecosystem with the Alps in the background and views extending to the sea.
Livio Felluga is one of the great protagonists of Italian wine, and his winery is the most emblematic signature of the Colli Orientali del Friuli denomination. Combining tradition with modern techniques, it produces wines that enjoy a great reputation in the Alpine country and internationally.
