The Tempranillo grapes that went into making Legaris Roble 2023 came from vineyards with alluvial, gravelly, and sandy loam soils. For this single-varietal wine, the grapes were carefully selected, destemmed, and transferred to stainless steel tanks for low-temperature fermentative maceration. The must was fermented at a controlled temperature in order to preserve its varietal aromas and, finally, after malolactic fermentation, the wine was aged for 3 months in American oak barrels, with gentle clarification and filtering for refinement in the bottle. The result is a red wine with prominent aromas of red fruit and pleasant hints of vanilla and coconut from its gentle ageing in wood.
This sensational young red wine from the D.O. Ribera del Duero is produced by Bodegas Legaris, one of the most representative wineries in the area. This modern firm began constructing its facilities in 1999 and now has around 100 hectares of vineyards spread across two municipalities: Curiel de Duero and San Martín de Rubiales. Legaris Roble is a good example of the winery's philosophy, which is based on creating wines that are made calmly and unhurriedly.
