General Information

The renowned winery La Spinetta crafted La Spinetta Barolo Campè 2011, a high-end red wine born from a manual selection of nebbiolo grapes sourced from a single old vineyard located in the best area of the D.O.C.G. Barolo.

After a long aging process of 45 months, involving wood, steel, and bottle, La Spinetta Barolo Campè 2011 came to life as a superb wine with mature tannins, a deep finish, and great longevity, whose undeniable quality has earned it top ratings from specialized critics, including 93 points from The Wine Advocate, the publication edited by Robert Parker, and 97 out of 100 possible points from James Suckling. A true gem of the D.O.C.G. Barolo, exquisite especially when paired with roasts, meat stews, and game dishes.

Tasting notes

At sight, it displays a beautiful and intense ruby red color.

The olfactory phase is distinguished by its aromas of dried flowers, earthy notes, spices, and small red fruits.

Full-bodied and dense on the palate, its mature tannins stand out, leading to a long and profound finish.

The winery

Winery
La Spinetta is one of the most iconic wineries in the Italian Piedmont region. Its history began in 1977 when Giuseppe and Lidia Rivetti founded their original facilities in the town of Castagnole delle Lanze. Today, the second generation of the family, embodied by Giorgio Rivetti, is at the helm of the winery. Under his leadership, they uphold their philosophy of producing great wines, rooted in meticulous work both in the vineyard and in the winery.

The vineyard area owned by La Spinetta spans 165 hectares, 100 in Piedmont and 65 in Tuscany, with 75% of it being cultivated according to biodynamic principles. The main varieties grown are the native moscato d'Asti, sangiovese, barbera d'Asti, langhe nebbiolo, barbaresco, and barolo.
