The vineyard that produces La Chalada by Vinos Sanz 2025 is located in La Seca, one of the historic sites of the D.O. Rueda, where Verdejo reaches its fullest expression. Its calcareous loam soils, poor in organic matter and rich in calcium and magnesium, along with a Mediterranean continental climate and an altitude close to 720 metres, allow for grapes with great concentration and freshness. The nocturnal harvest and traditional vineyard management ensure that each vintage retains the qualities that distinguish this wine.
The selection of the highest quality musts, low-temperature fermentation, and controlled interruption of the process preserve the grapes' natural sugars and the slight effervescence that defines the style of La Chalada by Vinos Sanz 2025. The winery has established this wine as a benchmark among semi-sweet whites of Rueda, always staying true to its fresh and expressive identity.
Vinos Sanz is one of the most representative bodegas of the D.O. Rueda, with a history marked by a constant pursuit of authenticity and respect for Verdejo. Their philosophy combines tradition and precise vinification techniques, such as selecting the highest quality musts and controlled fermentation, which allow them to preserve the varietal integrity. From their vineyards in La Seca, the winery has developed a unique personality reflected in productions like La Chalada by Vinos Sanz 2025, exemplifying the balance between modernity, freshness, and craftsmanship passed down through generations.
Nose
Memories of stone fruit, especially peach, and pip fruit, such as Conference pear. Then come herbal notes of spearmint and aromatic herbs. The finish leaves a citrusy background, with notes of orange and lime peel.
Mouth
It has a fresh palate, sustained by its natural acidity, which provides liveliness and prevents any heavy sensation. The sweetness integrates precisely and leaves a clean, smooth, and enjoyable finish.
In addition to being the oldest winery in Rueda, Vinos Sanz is an essential name to understand the enormous development that this Castilian-Leonese denomination has experienced in recent decades. Founded in 1870 in La Seca (Valladolid), it was the first winery to unconditionally bet on verdejo, today considered one of the best white grape varieties in the world. Currently, the winery is managed by the sixth generation of the family and is in the midst of a commercial expansion process to conquer new markets.
Vinos Sanz bases its philosophy on preserving the maximum expression of the vineyard and meticulously caring for the winemaking process. In addition to verdejo, the undisputed queen of Rueda, the winery also cultivates sauvignon blanc – the second most important variety in the area – across its more than 100 hectares of vineyards, mostly located in Finca La Colina. This plot, with unbeatable conditions for grape growing, produces the raw material for two of the best white wines made in this country: Finca La Colina 100 x 100 Verdejo and Finca La Colina Sauvignon Blanc.
