Commercial and public success endorse this young Verdejo, year after year among the best of the D.O. Rueda. It is produced by José Pariente (1998), a family-owned winery now led by the second generation, and it stands as the cornerstone of the winery, its most important wine. The new vintage, José Pariente Verdejo 2025, has received 93 points from British Master of Wine Tim Atkin, one of the most influential critics. The selection of vineyards planted between 1962 and 1991, owned by the family, along with the selection of grapes from old vines, results in a complex wine that reflects the diversity of the soils of the D.O. Rueda. In its 2023 vintage, it was chosen among the 10 wines with the best value for money in the world under 10 dollars by the reference portal Wine Searcher.
José Pariente Verdejo 2025 originates from Verdejo vines that grow in poor soils with pebbles, where the continental climate forces the plants to delve deep into the subsoil in search of water resources. Additionally, the extreme temperatures allow for a slow aromatic ripening of the grapes while maintaining good acidity.
The fermentation of the musts took place in different formats: stainless steel, concrete, and wooden vats. Afterwards, the wines were aged on their lees for 5 months. Finally, the different vinifications were blended. This blending process is what gives uniqueness to this renowned Verdejo white wine.
Bodegas José Pariente (1998) Bodegas José Pariente began its journey in 1998 under the leadership of María Victoria Pariente, who named the winery after her father, also a winemaker and grape grower. Today, the winery is managed by the second generation: Ignacio and Martina Prieto Pariente, María Victoria's children. The current facilities were inaugurated in 2008 and are equipped with state-of-the-art technology. From there, one can enjoy a panoramic view of their vineyards, a total of 40 hectares spread across the areas of Rueda and La Seca on a plateau at 750 m above sea level. All their vineyards are harvested and vinified separately.
José Pariente Verdejo 2025 (D.O. Rueda) is a white wine ideal for appetizers and pairing with dishes based on fish, seafood, pasta, rice, and white meats. It pairs well with all kinds of smoked foods, soft cheeses, and cold cuts.

Tasting notes
In the visual phase, a bright straw yellow color with greenish reflections can be observed.
Elegant, fresh, and complex. It displays a pronounced fruity tone, encompassing a range of white fruits and citrus. Additionally, aromas of fennel, Mediterranean scrub, and a background of aniseed and balsamic notes can be perceived. All of this is underscored by a mineral hint.
On the palate, fresh fruit notes reappear. Creamy, luscious, and elegant, with a soft touch of final bitterness, characteristic of the Verdejo variety, supported by good acidity. It has a great structure that enhances its persistence. The mouthfeel of this vintage stands out for its volume. The retronasal is complex and intense.
Bodegas José Pariente (1998) brings together three generations of a family dedicated to winemaking. The new winery facilities were inaugurated in 2008, offering a magnificent panoramic view of their vineyards, a total of 40 hectares located between the areas of Rueda and La Seca (Valladolid), on a plateau at 750 meters altitude. In addition to verdejo, they cultivate the other white grape variety prominent in Rueda: sauvignon blanc.
In their oldest vineyards, planted in goblet style, they practice manual harvesting, allowing for an initial selection of the grapes in the field. Furthermore, the harvesting of verdejo largely takes place at night to preserve the fruit's maximum aromatic intensity.
