Heir to a vast family winemaking tradition, the modern history of Bodegas Jiménez-Landi began its recorded history in 2004, initially in the Méntrida DO and later in the surroundings of the Sierra de Gredos, with the launch of a new project based on the reinterpretation of Garnacha in a historic area of its cultivation in Spain.
From a winemaking building dating back to 1963, the winery has enjoyed meteoric international success, leading the movement to recover Garnachas, applying the same formula imported from France: the meticulous quintessence of micro plots from old vineyards, exhaustive tending of the vines through an organic and biodynamic system, harvesting in boxes with the selection of the best bunches and, finally, a production that is tremendously respectful of the fruit and little interventionist, without renouncing the latest technologies for the production of wines.
We have gone all the way there to offer you an exclusive red wine. Jiménez-Landi Garnacha 2022 comes straight from the vineyard; after completing the alcoholic fermentation of Garnacha and Syrah from the different plots, the Club's technicians began exhaustive monitoring of the wines that would be part of the final blend. We wanted to respect the different styles of production and ageing to offer you a bright, lively and very fresh wine.
It’s cherry red in colour with garnet tones and good depth and intensity of colour.
It exhibits a fine, intense, clean and expressive nose; in which pleasant floral aromas and aromatic herbs (thyme) stand out, giving way to memories of red fruits and spicy, smoky notes.
On the palate it is tasty, elegant and subtle. It exhibits a fresh, free-flowing and aromatic mid-palate, endowed with fine tannins and a long, deep finish, offering you an excellent balance on the palate.
Jiménez-Landi Garnacha 2022 is a wine that comes from different plots of old Grenache located in the village of Méntrida, at an altitude of between 500 and 600 metres above sea level.
The vineyards are planted on sandy soils of granite origin, with organic certificates that enable us to achieve a fresh, light wine profile, which represents the typical Garnacha of the area. Our intention was to present an light, young and dynamic line of Gredos Garnacha which, from our perspective, brings together the freshness provided by the soils with the more Mediterranean profile provided by the climate and flora of the area, dominated by aromatic plants, thyme or lavender.
Owned by the Jiménez-Landi family, the current history of this winery began in 2004 with the launch of a new project based on the reinterpretation of garnacha in a historic cultivation area: the Sierra de Gredos. Moving away from concentrations and power, Jiménez-Landi focused on showcasing the freshest, most elegant, and subtle profile of garnacha. International recognition would soon follow.
The high scores awarded by Robert Parker enabled this small winery with limited productions to achieve success abroad before gaining recognition within our own country.
The commitment to organic and biodynamic agriculture and the artisanal rigor in production are other hallmarks of a winery that champions natural practices: manual harvesting, grape stomping by foot, fermentations with native yeasts, minimal use of sulfur, and aging in large barrels to preserve the wine's personality to the fullest.
