Jean-Pierre Moueix Bordeaux 2022 comes from exceptional vineyards cultivated on sandy soils with clay and gravel in the Rive Droite of Bordeaux. The Merlot provides depth and complexity to the wine, while the Cabernet Franc adds structure and spicy nuances in a harmonious blend that results in a wine full of character and body, with great aromatic complexity, faithfully reflecting the Bordeaux terroir from which it originates.
Établissements Jean-Pierre Moueix is a family-owned winery established in 1937 on the Quai du Priourat in Libourne by Jean-Pierre Moueix. It owns and distributes important Châteaux in the region and, since its foundation, the company has worked with the goal of obtaining the best grapes cultivated by local farmers to produce great wines that stand out for their balance and elegance, perfectly expressing the diverse terroirs of Bordeaux, one of the world's finest wine regions.
To produce Jean-Pierre Moueix Bordeaux 2022, the winery follows traditional agricultural practices and limits vine yields to ensure the quality and concentration of the grapes. After a manual harvest, the best bunches are selected and vinified in the classic Bordeaux style. First, maceration and fermentation are carried out under controlled temperatures. Then, the resulting wine ages for 15 to 18 months in French oak vats. Jean-Pierre Moueix Bordeaux is ideal to pair with all kinds of charcuterie, red meats, and rice dishes.
Jean-Pierre Moueix Bordeaux presents a delicate balance between elegance and power, fruit and spices, roundness and structure. Personally selected by Christian and Edouard Moueix, it displays a bright ruby hue with a complex and expressive nose offering rich notes of red fruits (cherry, strawberry) and blond tobacco. On the palate, it is powerful, with smooth and silky tannins. It invites you to keep drinking.
Founded in 1937 in Libourne by Jean-Pierre Moueix, Établissements Jean-Pierre Moueix (EJPM) is today one of the most influential wine companies in Bordeaux and a leading reference on the Right Bank. From its historic headquarters on Quai du Priourat, the Moueix family has built a unique model combining négociant activity with the ownership and management of some of the most prestigious vineyards in Pomerol and Saint-Émilion.
Jean-Pierre Moueix was a visionary who recognised the immense potential of Merlot planted on deep clay soils at a time when Pomerol still lacked international recognition. His influence was decisive in the global rise of the appellation and in the prestige of Château Pétrus.
From the 1950s onwards, the company expanded through the acquisition and management of emblematic vineyards such as Château La Fleur-Pétrus, Château Trotanoy, Château Hosanna and Château Bélair-Monange, Premier Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Émilion. This integrated approach ensured stylistic consistency based on elegance, precision and exceptional ageing potential.
Today, under the leadership of Christian and Édouard Moueix, the house maintains its family character and has extended its philosophy internationally through benchmark projects in Napa Valley such as Dominus Estate and Ulysses Vineyard.
