Inés Vizcarra 2021 is the other 'top' wine from Bodegas Vizcarra, and like Celia Vizcarra, it carries a woman's name. A red wine with very limited production, made from old vines - the most valuable ones - grown in the heart of the Ribera.

Inés Vizcarra 2021 is one of the great red wines of Ribera del Duero. A red wine of very limited production made with 50-year-old tinto fino (tempranillo) and a small percentage of merlot that adds complexity. Powerful yet elegant, it reflects a magnificent handling of oak aging and boasts excellent acidity that provides freshness and length.
The story of Bodegas Vizcarra began in 1991 under the guidance of Juan Carlos Vizcarra, owner and winemaker. After learning from his father, José Manuel Vizcarra, one of the pioneers in cultivating vineyards in Ribera del Duero, Juan Carlos started in 1991 producing wines in this region in modest facilities, launching family tradition wines that today compete in the high-end market.
With traditional viticulture, the winery owns 50 hectares of its own vineyards in the heart of the Ribera del Duero, cultivated mainly with tinto fino (tempranillo) and a small proportion of international grape varieties. In its new facilities, inaugurated in 2007, Vizcarra produces wines by gravity, achieving honest, elegant, and concentrated wines such as this Inés Vizcarra 2021, an ideal red wine to pair with Iberian cured meats and aged cheeses, pork knuckle, and roasts.
Inés Vizcarra is a cherry-colored red wine, clean and bright.
A clean nose full of intense and persistent aromas. Mineral notes stand out, along with red and black fruit accompanied by cocoa and nuts.
On the palate, it is powerful yet elegant, with body, serious, firm, very fresh, and with excellent balance and tannic expression. It has a long and complex finish.
Abadal is the most representative and important winery of the D.O. Pla de Bages, as well as being responsible for putting this small Catalan denomination on the map. Founded in 1983 by Valentín Roqueta, Abadal embodies centuries of winemaking and viticulture tradition of the Roqueta family. It features modern facilities located amidst a pine forest, in an area of great beauty, near the family estate Roqueta, which boasts over 9 centuries of history and a long tradition in vine cultivation.
Abadal is characterized by being a winery heavily influenced by French viticulture; in fact, its vineyards stand out for the presence of French grape varieties, such as merlot and cabernet franc.
