Garu Crianza 2022 (D.O.C.a Rioja) is born in the surroundings of Monte Garu, from estate-owned vineyards planted on calcareous and fresh soils in Labastida. The Tempranillo vines used in its production are between 25 and 80 years old, and the harvest is carried out manually in boxes of less than 12 kg, ensuring limited production and meticulous care of the grapes.
For the production of this Crianza, Bodega CM de Matarromera chose to use lightly toasted barrels, enhancing its character and complexity without masking the vineyard's personality. A wine deeply rooted in its terroir, with an honest and approachable profile.
Garu Crianza 2022 pairs exceptionally well with aged cheeses, roasted vegetables, lamb chops grilled over vine shoots, and both white and red meats, including game.
Garu Crianza boasts a good layer with dark cardinal and purplish tones. On the nose, it is lively, elegant, and complex, with aromas of red fruits like blackberry and currant, subtle hints of black fruits such as blueberry, with mineral nuances, balanced with the tertiary aromas from barrel aging; vanilla aromas, coconut shell, spiced notes of clove and black pepper, chocolate, and toffee, with a subtle roasted background. On the palate, it is a wine with a lively structure of sweet tannins that provide nerve and freshness to the framework, along with a measured acidity. The same aromas perceived on the nose persist, repeating an excellent complexity with a very long and harmonious finish, and a pleasant red fruit sensation.
