Garnacha Rock 2021 is, according to Bodegas Valleyglesias, a further twist in the production of the queen variety of the Sierra de Gredos, a traditional production area in the central peninsula. Complex, mineral, fresh, and of limited production.

Born from the low-yield old vines of Finca Valdeohornos, a granite terroir located at 750 meters above sea level in San Martín de Valdeiglesias, Garnacha Rock 2021 is an energetic and lively single-varietal made for pure enjoyment.
Only 1300 bottles of Garnacha Rock 2021 were produced, a red wine that pays tribute with its name to another passion, apart from winemaking and gastronomy, that occupies the hearts of the Ocaña brothers, owners of Bodegas Valleyglesias. The pronounced minerality provided by the weathered granite soils where the Garnacha vines grew was enhanced by a minimally interventionist winemaking process: no destemming, cold pre-fermentation maceration, a long fermentation in tanks, and 12 months of aging in French oak. All of this to create an absolutely exceptional Garnacha that is always as enjoyable as good rock & roll.
It displays a vivid, clean, and bright cherry red color with slight violet hues. Medium layer and abundant tears.
On the nose, it is dominated by aromas of forest fruits (sour cherries, blackberries) and mineral notes reminiscent of the granitic composition of the soils from which it originates. Subtle barrel contribution with spicy nuances (vanilla, cinnamon, and a touch of black pepper).
On the palate, it is balanced. Its perfect acidity offsets the alcohol level. High persistence and long-lasting aftertaste.
