Finca Barqueres 2019 is a sensational single-varietal red wine from a unique 1.2-hectare estate planted with cariñena. It is made with a meticulous selection of grapes from a plot with gravel and clay soil located on the northeast slope, at over 700 meters above sea level. Additionally, ecological and biodynamic practices are used in the vineyard work, which are deeply rooted in the philosophy of Tomàs Cusiné and his team. Thanks to all these factors, we have a fresh wine with notes of black fruit and a very mineral character. A unique experience for the senses.

Finca Barqueres 2019 is a magnificent red wine that originates from a 1.2-hectare estate at 715 meters above sea level near the Mediterranean Sea, where the main grape variety of this wine, cariñena, is grown. Produced with organic farming practices and biodynamic principles in the vineyard, this Finca Barqueres stands out for its concentration and minerality.
The winery Tomàs Cusiné began its journey in 2003 with the aim of crafting characterful wines that reflect the expression of the territory, leveraging the extensive knowledge of winemaker Tomàs Cusiné about the D.O. Costers del Segre. In this latest stage, the winery is meticulously working on the vineyard and precision winemaking. Tomàs Cusiné manages 30 hectares of his own vineyards, cultivated in an organic and sustainable manner.
Under environmentally friendly agricultural techniques, this Finca Barqueres is crafted within the D.O. Costers del Segre. Its production involves manual harvesting in boxes with a strict grape selection and subsequent cooling. After fermentation and maceration in 5,000-liter tanks, the wine undergoes aging in six first-year French oak barrels for 12 months. With a limited production, this Finca Barqueres 2019 is ideal to pair with roasted white meats, poultry, and grilled vegetables.
Intense cherry red color, clean and bright.
Medium-high intensity on the nose, with aromas of black fruit, mineral, and very concentrated.
On the palate, it is fresh and pleasant, with notes of black fruit such as black plum and tobacco, mineral, and with a long and persistent finish.
This boutique winery is the first independent project of Tomàs Cusiné in the village of El Vilosell. In 2003, after gaining the necessary experience in wineries such as Castell del Remei and Cérvoles, the winemaker decided to embark on his own wine adventure in the region of Les Garrigues.
The purpose of this winery is to craft characterful wines that represent the expression of the territory, leveraging Tomàs Cusiné's knowledge of the D.O. Costers del Segre. In recent years, the winery has been prioritizing vineyard work and precision winemaking.
Currently, it produces wines under the denominations of origin Costers del Segre, Conca de Barberà, and Monsant.
This winery has 30 hectares of vineyards, which are managed organically and sustainably. In addition to its own vineyards, there are another 70 hectares from associated winegrowers in the same area.
As a winemaker, Tomàs Cusiné demonstrates his mastery in wine blending and is recognized as an expert in this field, with over 30 harvests of experience. In short, he is one of the most renowned winemakers on the current scene, with a total production of 1,200,000 bottles, half of which are exported to more than 40 countries worldwide.
