Familia Martínez Bujanda is one of the most veteran and famous winemaking dynasties in Rioja, and by extension, on the national scene since the late 20th century when they expanded their activity to other regions. Finca Antigua is their winery in the D.O. La Mancha, a brand that has greatly contributed to the revaluation of the area thanks to surprising, creative, and avant-garde wines born at over 900 m altitude, reflecting a terroir different from the rest of the region. Finca Antigua Reserva 2018 (60% cabernet sauvignon, 20% merlot, and 20% syrah) is a clear example of the winery's expertise.

Finca Antigua Reserva 2018 is made with 60% cabernet sauvignon, 20% merlot, and 20% syrah, and comes from a vintage that offered wines of excellent concentration and character. The grapes come from Finca Antigua and were cultivated and harvested separately. Fermentation took place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, and maceration lasted 17 days. The resulting wine was aged for 15 months in French oak barrels.
Familia Martínez Bujanda is one of the oldest and most renowned winemaking families in Rioja, and by extension, in the national wine scene, since they expanded their activity to other regions at the end of the 20th century. In 1998, the family was captivated by the potential of Finca Antigua and acquired this property located in an extreme area for cultivation, in the municipality of Los Hinojosos (Cuenca). It is a 1000-hectare estate, of which 421 hectares are vineyards, with a high percentage of old vines (hence its name).
The uniqueness of Finca Antigua lies in its high altitude (920 m) and its loamy limestone soils, poor in organic matter. It is divided into 40 plots, where a wide range of national and international grape varieties are cultivated separately. The wines have a modern profile and are made exclusively with the fruits of the estate, in facilities equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
The red wine Finca Antigua Reserva 2018 (D.O. La Mancha) is ideal to pair with pisto manchego or oven-roasted lamb.
Tasting notes
```html
Color: Bright cherry red with a high layer, very covered; crystalline flashes. Stained tears, very abundant and dense with a slow flow.
Nose: High aromatic intensity, attractive sensations of scrubland, foliage, and balsamic notes where fresh mint, thyme, and eucalyptus leaf stand out. Dairy and vanilla hints. The wood, very well integrated with the fruit, provides spicy aromas, notes of tobacco leaves, hints of juniper, and aniseed from new French oak. Very elegant, complex, and suggestive notes.
Taste: The attack evokes fullness and power with a development on the palate of great volume and structure, but without showing any sensation of harshness, very fatty and pleasant. Great freshness in its aftertaste, making it tremendously appetizing and pairing well with hearty meals. Balsamic aftertaste.
