Its privileged origin, century-old vines located on the slope of a cliff in Montsant, and meticulous production, which includes 14 to 16 months of aging in French oak barrels, make Espectacle 2019 an intense red wine, with great fruit concentration and smooth tannins.
Espectacle 2019 is the work of Spectacle Vins, a project launched in 2002 by a group of experienced figures from the wine world, including René Barbier, Christopher Cannan, and Fernando Zamora, with the ultimate goal of producing a great Grenache red wine in the D.O. Montsant. The three hectares of vineyard they work on, with century-old vines in a rugged terroir, and the winemaking expertise of the winery's founders soon bore fruit. In fact, the first vintage presented in 2004 debuted with great success by achieving a 99-point Parker rating. Espectacle 2019 follows the same line of exceptional quality, only attainable by iconic wines.
Spectacle brings together a group of industry experts (including René Barbier, Christopher Cannan, and Fernando Zamora) with the aim of creating a great Garnacha wine in the Montsant area.
For its production, they rely on a small and spectacular vineyard cultivated with century-old vines on an almost vertical slope of the Catalan Montsant. Since its debut in 2004, the red wine Espectacle has garnered acclaim from both national and international critics (99 Parker points for the 2004 vintage, among other accolades).
