Edetària Selecció Blanco 2023 is a magnificent white wine protected by the D.O. Terra Alta, resulting from a meticulous selection of white garnacha from the oldest vines, over 60 years old, cultivated by the Edetària winery in its terroir of Plana de Gandesa (Tarragona). Quaternary fossil dune soils, very poor and with pronounced drainage, are the origin of a complex single-varietal wine with a mineral personality, well-integrated acidity, structured, long, and persistent.

Edetària Selecció Blanco 2023 is one of the oenological gems of Terra Alta, made exclusively from white garnacha grapes sourced from old vines over 60 years old, planted on "panal" soils, a Quaternary fossil dune that imparts a distinct minerality.
The harvest is carried out manually, carefully selecting the clusters, which are then cooled at low temperatures to preserve their freshness and aromatic complexity. Fermentation is conducted naturally and by gravity, and the wine ages for eight months in new French oak barrels, giving it structure and elegance without masking the varietal expression.
Founded in 2003 by Joan Àngel Lliberia in Gandesa, at the heart of Terra Alta, the winery Edetària was born from the desire to recover the family’s winemaking legacy and reinterpret it with a contemporary perspective. Lliberia, an agronomist and trained in wine business management at the OIV, decided to return to his homeland after a professional stint in France and Catalonia, with the firm intention of crafting wines that authentically express the character of the terroir.
Edetària works with native varieties, especially white garnacha, and cultivates its 60 hectares of vineyards under organic principles, combining traditional techniques with oenological innovation. Its philosophy is based on respect for the land, varietal identity, and the pursuit of soulful wines capable of evoking emotion and enduring over time. Edetària Selecció Blanco 2023 is, precisely, one of the highest expressions of this vision: a wine born from old vines, meticulously crafted, and reflecting with precision the mineral, floral, and Mediterranean essence of Terra Alta.

On the nose, Edetària Selecció Blanco is complex and very mineral, with notes of hydrocarbons. A powerful palate well-balanced with good, well-integrated acidity, which will give it a long life. Structured, silky, long, persistent, and elegant.
