General Information

Ébano Viñedos y Bodegas has been one of Vinoselección's great bets in recent years. We continue to believe that Carlos Gómez and his team have been called to change the history of Ribera del Duero, and time has proved us right again. Ébano Reserva 2019 is made 100% with Tempranillo and aged 424 days in barrels. Our technical team made a selection of batches from the 2019 vintage to configure this final coupage.

Founded in 2004, Ébano Viñedos y Bodegas has 43 hectares of vineyards in Gumiel de Mercado and Quintana del Pidio, in one of the best areas for the cultivation of vines in the Ribera del Duero region of Burgos. Carlos Gómez, owner of Adegas Valmiñor (D.O. Rías Baixas), came here at the beginning of this century, to the Duero River basin, to fulfil his dream of founding a large winery in Ribera del Duero. Thus, in 2004 Ébano Viñedos y Bodegas, based in Castrillo de Duero (Valladolid), came into being,. This is a firm that owns 43 hectares of vineyards, which are distributed between the municipalities of Gumiel de Mercado and Quintana del Pidio.

The care of the vineyard is one of the hallmarks of Ébano. Half of the vineyard is goblet-trained and the other half trellised, and yields do not exceed 2,500 and 4,000 kg/ha, respectively. Harvesting is always manual and, once in the winery, the most modern technology is on hand to cater for a total of more than 400 French oak barrels.

Ébano Reserva 2019 (D.O. Ribera del Duero) is ideal to accompany hot legume dishes.

Work at the vine level is fundamental for the winery: half of the vineyard is planted in bush vines and the other half in trellis, with yields not exceeding 2,500 and 4,000 kg/ha, respectively. They also carry out leaf analysis, green pruning, cluster thinning, and soil analysis to understand and determine the needs of the vines.
