General Information

In Domaine Louis Moreau Chablis 2023, the chardonnay shows a unique typicity brought by the rich singularity of the limestone, clay, and fossil soils where its original vines grow, located in the A.O.C. Chablis, an emblematic production area of Burgundy.

Since its founding in 1904, Domaine Louis Moreau has been one of the reference wineries of Chablis. Managed by the sixth generation of the Moreau family, the firm has 65 hectares of chardonnay vineyards spread across the best terroirs of the appellation.

Domaine Louis Moreau Chablis 2023 represents finesse and freshness, a product of the conjunction of those uniquely composed soils and a meticulous vinification, which included a complete fermentation in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts and a subsequent aging on lees for at least 4 months. The result is a fruity, lively, elegant, and balanced white wine that is ideal as a companion, especially for fish dishes like smoked salmon or steamed cod.

Tasting notes

Domaine Louis Moreau Chablis exhibits a beautiful golden yellow color.

Floral nose with typical touches of Chablis wines of white fruit (apple, pear).

Good attack on the palate, where mineral and acidic notes stand out. Balanced, fresh, and delicate.

The winery

Domaine Louis Moreau is one of the leading wineries in Chablis, the birthplace of the finest white wines of Burgundy, France. Although the presence of the Moreau family in this prestigious production area dates back to the early 19th century, the key date in the establishment of the firm is 1904, when Jean-Joseph Moreau purchased its most prestigious vineyard: the Clos des Hospices within the Grand Cru Les Clos.
< br> Currently, it is Louis Moreau, the sixth generation of the family, who has been leading the domaine since 1994. Respect for the environment and achieving the selection of the finest grapes guide the philosophy of the winery, which owns a 65-hectare vineyard spread across the entire A.O.C. Chablis. The wines produced from these vineyards showcase a unique style that has made them renowned worldwide, a harmonious combination of purity, minerality, delicacy, and elegance.
