Tasting notes

To the eye, Domaine Les Alexandrins Saint-Joseph displays a beautiful dark red color, with hints of purple tones.

On the nose, it reveals a great mineral freshness, complemented by aromas of blackcurrant, peonies, and sweet spices.

On the palate, it shows a fine tension, contributed by its silky tannic structure. Rich and digestible finish.

The winery

Domaine & Maison Les Alexandrins is one of the most interesting wineries in the northern Rhône Valley and a true representation of the wines from this French production area. The winery was founded in 2012 by Nicolas Jaboulet, the sixth generation of a winemaking family established in Tain l’Hermitage since 1834; Guillaume Sorrel, son of Marc Sorrel from Domaine Sorrel in Hermitage; and Alexandre Caso, a specialist in the terroirs of this region. Together, they joined forces in a common project with a clear purpose: to craft great wines that faithfully embody the essence of the northern Rhône, with a classic style that is also contemporary and timeless.

Currently, Domaine & Maison Les Alexandrins owns vineyards in Crozes-Hermitage and Saint-Joseph, two of the most important appellations in the region. The age of the vines they work with, predominantly syrah, ranges from 70 to 90 years old, producing aromatic wines with fine tannins.
