Domaine Les Alexandrins Crozes-Hermitage 2020 showcases the classic and timeless style of wines from the northern Rhône Valley. The syrah, born from sustainable vineyards over 70 years old, planted in clay and sandy soils and benefited by a semi-continental, almost Mediterranean climate, unfolds all its fruity and spicy aromas in a tasty, balanced red with fine tannins. An interesting option to get to know the wines from this French production area.
Concentrated and complex nose with aromas of black fruits (currant, blackberry), smoke and embers, and sweet spices.
The palate is fresh and flavorful. With fine and large tannins, balanced evolution, and pleasant and delicate aromatic notes of red and black fruits, along with those characteristic of aging.
Domaine & Maison Les Alexandrins is one of the most interesting wineries in the northern Rhône Valley and a true representation of the wines from this French production area. The winery was founded in 2012 by Nicolas Jaboulet, the sixth generation of a winemaking family established in Tain l’Hermitage since 1834; Guillaume Sorrel, son of Marc Sorrel from Domaine Sorrel in Hermitage; and Alexandre Caso, a specialist in the terroirs of this region. Together, they joined forces in a common project with a clear purpose: to craft great wines that faithfully embody the essence of the northern Rhône, with a classic style that is also contemporary and timeless.
Currently, Domaine & Maison Les Alexandrins owns vineyards in Crozes-Hermitage and Saint-Joseph, two of the most important appellations in the region. The age of the vines they work with, predominantly syrah, ranges from 70 to 90 years old, producing aromatic wines with fine tannins.
