Marqués de la Concordia Family of Wines belongs to The Haciendas Company, a group originally from Rioja, where it owns vineyards in all three subzones of the Denominación. We’re now introducing, exclusively for the Spanish market, D'Ávalos Crianza 2016, a Rioja with enticing aromas of tobacco leaf and fresh vanilla that’s medium-bodied, structured and balanced.

D'Ávalos Crianza 2016 is made from Tempranillo (85%), the iconic variety in Rioja, and Garnacha (15%), another local variety that’s currently on the rise. The must was fermented at a maximum temperature of 28ºC. After being fermented, the wine was transferred to oak barrels to mature slowly for 12 months, followed by another 12 months in the bottle before being released onto the market.

The name of the winery is a tribute to José Abascal (1743–1821), Marquis of La Concordia de Perú, who in his role as viceroy of Peru spearheaded social reform the transfer of knowledge, and harmonious co-operation between Creoles and Spaniards.
D'Avalos Crianza 2016 (D.O.Ca. Rioja) goes well with meat dishes such as roast suckling pig or risotto with beef and wild mushrooms.

In September 2020, Marqués de la Concordia Lagunilla Crianza 2018 was awarded 90 points by the prestigious Wine Enthusiast magazine, making it into the “Top 100 Best Buys of 2021” list and becoming the highest-rated Rioja Crianza.
