Cune Reserva 2019 is one of the classic reds from Bodegas CVNE. Made primarily from Tempranillo grapes harmoniously blended with Garnacha Tinta, Mazuelo, and Graciano, also traditional in the area.
Located in the subzone of Rioja Alta, the vineyards that produce Cune Reserva 2019 are over 20 years old. The harvest is done manually, and the fruit is carefully transported to the winery. After fermentation and an 18-month maceration, the resulting wine undergoes a 24-month aging process in French and American oak barrels, followed by an additional 12 months in the bottle for refinement.
The Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España (CVNE) is undoubtedly an institution in the wine world at an international level and a flag bearer of the potential of Rioja wines. With over 140 years of history, it is one of the pioneering firms dedicated to bottling and exporting in Spain, with several brands spread across different wine regions within our borders.
Suitable for vegans, Cune Reserva 2019 is a wine under the D.O. Ca. Rioja that is perfect for pairing with meats, baked fish, stews, legumes, or aged cheeses.
```Cune Reserva is a garnet-colored wine with cherry red highlights. On the nose, it offers aromas of forest fruits, blackberries, cherries, and strawberries, followed by licorice notes that complement those from its barrel aging (spices, vanilla, and aniseed notes). On tasting, its passage through the mouth is smooth thanks to a gentle tannin that provides balance and roundness. The final acidity note gives us a long wine with a fruity aftertaste.
The Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España is one of the great symbols of the Estación de Haro neighborhood, the great capital of Rioja wine. Founded in 1879 by the brothers Raimundo and Eusebio Real de Asúa, CVNE (as it is known worldwide) can proudly claim to have remained at the top throughout its history. Ten years after its creation, the winery inaugurated an impressive barrel hall designed by the studio of Alexandre Gustave Eiffel. By 1900, it was already producing nearly 80,000 bottles, an unthinkable feat for the time. The 20th century established CVNE as an institution of Spanish wine.
Over 140 years, it has successfully combined tradition and innovation to create wines that today are the standard-bearers of Rioja reds and have garnered international critical acclaim. Its Imperial Gran Reserva 2004 made history when it was chosen as Wine of the Year 2013 by the prestigious American magazine Wine Spectator, marking the first time a Spanish wine received this recognition.
Since its foundation, CVNE has expanded its heritage and grown with avant-garde projects at different times in its history, such as the creation of Viñedos del Contino or Viña Real.
