An exclusive Reserva from the makers of Tinto Pesquera
Condado de Haza Club Reserva 2022 is a Ribera del Duero belonging to the exclusive Club range from Vinoselección: you won’t find it anywhere else! Made with Tempranillo and aged 18 months in French oak, it offers an elegant, intense and very personal interpretation of the estate where it originates.
Condado de Haza Club Reserva 2022 is born in the most authentic Ribera del Duero, on a 200-hectare estate on the banks of the Duero, where the Fernández Rivera family has built a project with the vineyard and the winery working in perfect harmony. Made with Tempranillo and aged 18 months in French oak, it is a finca red exclusive to Vinoselección, conceived with the precision and care that distinguish the Club range.
The grapes come from own vines in Roa (Burgos), in a landscape of strong viticultural character that allows absolute control from the vine to the bottle.
Condado de Haza Club Reserva 2022 sums up the philosophy of a house that has managed to unite origin, rigour and a long-term vision in a single reference. A Reserva designed for those seeking a faithful and well-cared interpretation of the Ribera del Duero.
Consumption features
Pairing
Condado de Haza Club Reserva 2022 pairs with dishes with depth of flavour and intensity. It pairs especially well with quail stuffed with foie, pigeon with seasonal mushrooms, or venison loin with cranberry sauce.
Beautiful deep cherry-red colour with a garnet edge, high chromatic intensity and great vibrancy.
Nose
On the nose it displays very intense and complex aromas, with a marked prominence of ripe black fruit and black plum confiture. Dairy notes then appear, reminiscent of whey from fresh cheese and yoghurt, while the background gains depth with spicy hints of vanilla and ginger. The finish is completed with elegant nuances of toasted wood, which add character and finesse to the whole.
Mouth
On the palate, Condado de Haza Club Reserva 2022 presents itself as luscious and full-bodied, with the fruity character very much evident and a ripe fruit that dominates its entire course. Its mouthfeel is broad and balanced, with a very well-resolved integration between acidity and body. Finish long and persistent, where notes of black fruit in jam reappear and subtle echoes of chocolate.
Condado de Haza is the second winery of the Familia Fernández Rivera in Ribera del Duero. Following the success of the parent winery (Tinto Pesquera), this family decided to expand its legacy. They found the ideal location on a hillside with poor soils and perfect orientation along the banks of the Duero River, in the municipality of Roa (Burgos), where the first vines were planted in 1987. On the same estate stands the winery, inspired by French ‘châteaux,’ with a structure designed by carving into a hill. Additionally, it features an underground bottle cellar where the wines rest in perfect conditions.
In 2008, the international prestige of the winery took a significant leap when Condado de Haza Crianza was included by Wine Spectator magazine among the 100 best wines in the world. Today, the winery has 200 hectares of vineyards, all of the tempranillo variety, the signature grape of the Familia Fernández Rivera. Its wines are made exclusively from estate-grown grapes. It produces the brands Condado de Haza Crianza, Condado de Haza Reserva Especial, and Alenza. These are red wines with long aging in oak, earning acclaim from both national and international critics.
