General Information

Deutz’s legendary elegance and sophistication are showcased in Champagne Deutz Brut Classic, a well-rounded coupage of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier that’s notable for its exceptional balance.

Deutz, a historic firm founded in 1838 in Ay, owns an enviable 42-hectare vineyard spanning some of the most iconic areas of the A.O.C. Champagne, such as the famous Côte des Blancs. This means that practically 80% of its wines are Grand Cru or Premier Cru, the highest French classifications of quality. Champagne Deutz Brut Classic is its flagship wine, an expressive sparkling wine with very fine bubbles and a silky texture that’s ideal for getting to know one of France’s leading producers of champagne.

Tasting notes

Attractive, deep golden colour with very fine bubbles.

Highly expressive nose with floral and fruity aromas (apple, pear) and notes of toast and brioche.

Silky mouthfeel with a perfect combination of freshness and lushness. Well-rounded and long-lasting with a touch of fruitiness.

The winery

Deutz is one of the historic maisons of Champagne. Founded in Ay in 1838 by William Deutz and Pierre-Hubert Geldermann, the house owns 42 hectares of vineyards in some of the most important areas of Champagne, including the renowned Côte des Blancs, with nearly 80% of its wines coming from Grand Cru and Premier Cru plots.

Tradition defines the style of Champagne Deutz, with the use of reserve wines, crafted in-house, for blending. This results in refined, elegant, and consistent sparkling wines, alongside a commitment to long aging, in some cases ranging from 7 to 10 years.

Since 1983, after generations under the Deutz and Geldermann families, the house was sold to the Rouzaud family, owners of Louis Roederer. Today, Champagne Deutz produces 2.5 million bottles annually, exporting part of its production to more than 40 countries.
