Campillo Rosé 2023 is made from Garnacha grapes from the firm’s own vineyards located on hillsides at an altitude of 600 metres. They were harvested at night to ensure that the grapes were still fresh when they entered the winery. They were macerated with their skins for 2 to 3 hours to extract aromas and structure. The must was gently extracted using a gravity system without pressing and cold macerated for 36 hours. Multiple batonnage (stirring) was carried out during fermentation at a low temperature, preserving the fine lees to afford the wine complexity.
Campillo (1990) is one of the firms that spearheaded the modernisation of Rioja and one of the most representative wineries of Rioja Alavesa. Based in Laguardia, the heart of Rioja Alavesa, it’s regarded as the most exclusive, boutique winery belonging to Faustino, one of the country’s major family-run wine groups.
With Campillo, Julio Faustino Martínez fulfilled his dream of creating a winery in the style of French chateaux, an innovative concept, with the vineyards surrounding the facilities. Campillo was one of the first wineries with a state-of-the-art architectural design and its impressive facilities are still at the cutting edge.

Campillo (1990) is one of the wineries that marked the modernity of Rioja and one of the most representative wineries of Rioja Alavesa. Located in Laguardia, the heart of Rioja Alavesa, it is considered the ‘boutique’ and most exclusive winery of the Faustino Group: one of the major winemaking groups in the country, led by a centenary lineage. With Campillo, Julio Faustino Martínez fulfilled his dream of creating a winery inspired by the French ‘châteaux,’ as he pursued an innovative concept, with the vineyards surrounding the facilities. Additionally, Campillo was one of the first ventures into avant-garde architecture, and its impressive facilities remain highly relevant today.
Campillo aims to offer in its wines the maximum expression of tempranillo. To achieve this goal, the Faustino Group - now renamed as Familia Martínez Zabala - decided to establish this project in the area of Laguardia, where they acquired 50 hectares of vineyards. Later, they expanded this viticultural heritage with 50 more hectares near the Sierra de Cantabria. In total, 100 hectares of vineyards - distributed within a maximum distance of 10 km from the winery - are cultivated on poor soils that provide low yields of highly structured fruits with good acidity, perfect for crafting expressive wines capable of enduring long aging in oak and with great aging potential. Elegance, freshness, and a fruity profile perfectly integrated with barrel notes are the defining characteristics of their wines.
