The art of waiting: the essence of a unique Gran Reserva
In Rioja, greatness is measured in terms of time and dedication. Bordón Gran Reserva 2015 comes from iconic vineyards and has been patiently aged for over six years in both barrel and bottle. It’s the noblest expression of a century-old winery that’s made history in the region, a wine that turns every glass into a tribute to tradition.
Bordón Gran Reserva 2015 is the purest expression of the Rioja tradition. Made with Tempranillo grapes from the three sub-regions of Rioja, this wine has been matured for over six years in both barrel and bottle to achieve perfect harmony. Its elegance and complexity make it a real gem for anyone who's looking for authenticity and distinction.
Behind this masterpiece is Bodegas Franco-Españolas, founded in 1890 and considered one of Rioja’s historic wineries. With over a century of experience under its belt, it’s witnessed the evolution of Spanish wine, preserving the core qualities that have made it famous: respect for the terroir, careful sorting of grapes, and an ageing process that honours tradition.
This Gran Reserva, awarded a gold medal at the Sélections Mondiales des Vins, is following in the footsteps of the previous vintage, which scored 92 points from Decanter, as well as from critic Andreas Larsson and the prestigious publication Wine&Spirits. It pairs beautifully with red meats, roasts, traditional stews and mature cheeses. It’s also perfect as a gift or for enjoying on special occasions, because each bottle is an invitation to discover the greatness of Spain’s first Denominación de Origen Calificada.

Bodegas Franco-Españolas is a true benchmark among the historic wineries of our country. Founded in 1890 by the Frenchman Frederick Anglade, from the Anglade firm, together with other Spanish partners (hence the name “Franco-Españolas”), it is now entirely Spanish-owned and has been in the hands of the Eguizábal family since 1983.
Located in the heart of Logroño, Bodegas Franco-Españolas caters to the current tastes of consumers while respecting the winery's historical legacy, because, as they themselves state, “there are few things better than a good classic.” Its facilities, featuring elegant architecture, span 59,000 square meters, and its underground cellars house 15,000 barrels where their Crianza, Reserva, and Gran Reserva wines are aged.
