Piedmont, in the north of the country, is considered by many experts to be the birthplace of the finest Italian wines. Here originates Bonfante & Chiarle Due Lilu 2021, a magnificent single-varietal Barbera, the emblematic grape of the region and the third most planted red grape in the country. A red wine with intense aromas of fresh fruit and vanilla, and a velvety, harmonious, balanced, and delicate palate.

Bonfante & Chiarle Due Lilu 2021 is a single-varietal barbera aged for 6 months in stainless steel tanks. A red wine that perfectly expresses the fruit of classic Piedmontese viticulture. It is sourced from vineyards located in the mountainous area in the southern part of the region, on slopes with the best sun exposure, in clay-limestone soils rich in marl.
The D.O.C.G. Barbera d’Asti includes some of the most appreciated and renowned wines of the Italian Piedmont region, distinguished by their lightness and smoothness. Recognized with the highest quality classification in 2008, this designation exclusively covers red wines made with barbera grapes (at least 85%) in the city of Asti and its surroundings.
Bonfante & Chiarle was founded in 1908 in Mombaruzzo, but its modern era began in 1975 under the leadership of Luciano Chiarle, Giorgio Chiarle, and Domenico Bonfante, who took over from their grandparents and parents, all of whom were winemakers. Bonfante & Chiarle thus continues its winemaking tradition in the hills of Monferrato.
Monferrato is the area located in the southeast of Piedmont. It includes the entire province of Asti and part of the province of Alessandria. It is a mountainous area where barbera is the predominant variety.
The red wine Bonfante & Chiarle Due Lilu 2021 is ideal for pairing with hearty meat dishes such as venison stew or veal osso buco with red wine.
