General Information

Billecart-Salmon Le Rosé is crafted with the classic varietal trilogy of Champagne: chardonnay (45%), pinot noir (35%), pinot meunier (20%). The grapes come from the Marne Valley, in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ (Champagne), where the vines grow in clay-limestone soils, in the finest terroirs. Its composition combines vintages from 2014 to 2020. Chardonnay, pinot noir, and pinot meunier vinified in white, and pinot noir vinified in red were blended in stainless steel tanks. Partial malolactic fermentation and 36 months of aging in the bottle on fine lees.

Founded by the marriage of Nicolas François Billecart and Elisabeth Salmon in 1818, Billecart-Salmon is one of the few grandes marques of Champagne that remain owned by the founding family. Seven generations of the family, now led by Mathieu Roland-Billecart, have ensured that their name is synonymous with greatness and elegance, thanks to their sparkling wines remaining in the elite of French wines. For example, in 1999, the cuvée Nicolas François Billecart 1959 was chosen as the "Champagne of the Millennium" by a panel of experts during a tasting held in Stockholm where 150 vintages from the top Champagne houses were compared.

Located in the commune of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, the winery manages 100 hectares of vineyards and also sources grapes from another 300 hectares under control, spread across 40 crus of Champagne. A significant part of these vineyards comes from an area within a 20 km radius around Épernay, where the grands crus coexist in the regions of the Montagne de Reims, the Côte des Blancs, and the Marne Valley.

In its production, it stands out for its respect for ancestral methods and its commitment to sustainability; in fact, since 2017, it has been certified as "Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne." One of its mottos is "Work, time, and style forged by instinct."

Billecart-Salmon Le Rosé (A.O.C. Champagne) is perfect to accompany a meal from start to finish: highly versatile with all kinds of dishes and
