Biodynamic red wine from Gil Family Estates in the D.O. Almansa
La Bien Plantá 2024 is a young biodynamic red wine that defies all expectations. Made from Garnacha Tinta grapes grown through organic viticulture, this wine originates from the vineyards of Bodegas Atalaya in the D.O. Almansa, at 700 meters above sea level. Elegant and complex, it surprises with its balance, silkiness, and long finish.
La Bien Plantá 2024 is the result of the exceptional work of Bodegas Atalaya and the talent of its winemaker Frank Gonzales. A living testament to the magic of biodynamic farming, a practice that respects lunar cycles and treats the land as a living being, allowing only the use of natural fertilizers and additives. The result? A red wine that treasures complexity and subtlety. Flavorful and dense, it offers freshness and perfectly balanced acidity.
Bodegas Atalaya is located in Paraje Atalaya, near the Manchegan town of Almansa. Its vineyards rise over 700 meters above sea level on limestone and low-fertility soils, in a climate characterized by scarce rainfall. These conditions result in low vineyard yields, but in return, they produce grapes of very high quality and aromatic concentration. Bodegas Atalaya is part of the Viñas Familia Gil group, led by Miguel Gil.
This young and delicate red wine from the D.O. Almansa is highly versatile when it comes to food pairing: it pairs perfectly with vegetable dishes, mushrooms, stews, and roasts. You can also combine La Bien Plantá 2024 with grilled white and red meats and all kinds of cheeses.

Creators' opinion
La Bien Plantá is an exceptional wine that combines complexity and delicacy. Visually, it displays an intense and deep cherry red tone. On the palate, La Bien Plantá is flavorful, silky, broad, elegant, dense, fresh, and with balanced acidity. And it holds a great surprise: its very long and original finish.
Bodegas Atalaya is part of Juan Gil Bodegas Familiares. Miguel Gil is the most prominent figure of this thriving group, managed by the fourth generation of a lineage of passionate winemakers and viticulturists. Since his great-grandfather Juan Gil Jiménez founded the family winery (Bodega Juan Gil) in the center of Jumilla, 100 years have passed. In 2001, Miguel Gil took charge of the relaunch and modernization of the family winery Juan Gil and founded the winery El Nido.
After the creation of the winery El Nido, the group Viñas Familia Gil (formerly known as Juan Gil Bodegas Familiares) began to grow significantly, expanding into other designations of origin and always focusing on native grape varieties. In 2007, the Gil family arrived at the small D.O. Almansa (Albacete) and founded Bodegas Atalaya.
Bodegas Atalaya is located in Paraje Atalaya, 3 km north of the town of Almansa. Its vineyards grow at an altitude of 700 m, on low-fertility calcareous soils and in a continental climate with scarce rainfall, ideal conditions for achieving low yields and high-quality grapes with great concentration of color and aromas in the wines.
