General Information
Bardos Villálvaro 2021 comes from small plots located in Villálvaro, a village in the province of Soria at almost 1000 meters above sea level, in the northeastern edge of the D.O. Ribera del Duero. In these cold and rugged lands, tinta fina (tempranillo) vines coexist with other minority varieties such as garnacha and albillo mayor, some over 140 years old.
The soils are sandy with a surface layer of gravel and a clay-iron subsoil that retains moisture, ideal for maintaining water balance in an extreme climate environment.
Viticulture is manual, respectful, and focused on the expression of the terroir. The harvest was carried out manually, and fermentation and maceration took place in a 9000 kg vat over three weeks at 28 ºC. The malolactic fermentation and aging were conducted in a 5000-liter European oak vat, where the wine rested for 12 months. This large-format aging helps preserve the wine's freshness and fruit expression without masking its origin.
Bodegas De Bardos, part of the Vintae group, was created with the aim of producing wines in the most extreme corners of the Ribera del Duero. From the Páramo de Corcos to the Soria mountain ranges, Bardos works with high-altitude vineyards with an artisanal and bold approach. Bardos Villálvaro is the result of this philosophy: a wine that unapologetically reflects the landscape and climate of the Soria Ribera, translating them into elegance and freshness.

Bardos Villálvaro stands out for its great intensity, with a very high layer, but above all for its luminosity, with cherry-red tones and violet hues on the rim accompanied by bluish flashes. It denotes a youthful and fresh character at first glance. Nose: It is an inspiration to the ethereal world, to fresh air; a combination of jasmine flower with citrus notes of acidic grapefruit, surrounded by an array of red fruit that characterizes the expression of fresh fruit and denotes an unlimited inner energy. In the background, a more balsamic side emerges, with eucalyptus and aromatic notes that evoke altitude and a sublime freshness. Its great complexity does not prevent it from exuding honesty and a subtlety of great depth. Palate: with a delicate entry and brimming with energy; it is the epitome of modern fine wine crafting, reflecting its environment. Its DNA carries balance and elegance; a constant throughout its journey on the palate.
