Microviticulture in the Sierra de Gredos madrileña
Las Bacantes Garnacha 2020 is the very interesting red wine on which the project of winemaker and viticulturist Carlos Sánchez is based in Cadalso de los Vidrios, on the Madrid side of the Sierra de Gredos. Crafted from the grapes of a single old vineyard, worked sustainably and organically, and vinified without artifice and with minimal intervention, we are faced with a wine that faithfully reflects its land of origin and the fine and traditional winemaking style of its author.
Las Bacantes is the personal project of Carlos Sánchez in Cadalso de los Vidrios. Under a name inspired by the worshippers of the god Bacchus, the winemaker of the Rioja wineries 3 Viñerones and La Cantarada bases his venture in the Madrid side of the Sierra de Gredos, focusing on selective micro-vinifications of old vineyards of Garnacha and Albillo Real.
Following environmentally friendly viticulture and minimal intervention in the winery, Las Bacantes achieves wines that combine finesse with the varietal character so distinctive of this production area of the D.O. Vinos de Madrid, which is increasingly on the rise.
