Attis Caiño Tinto 2018 is one of the attractive single-varietal red wines produced by Attis Bodega y Viñedos, a family-owned Galician winery that in 2012 decided to diversify its creations beyond the traditional whites of Rías Baixas.
To achieve this, Attis Bodega y Viñedos, based in Meaño, in the heart of the Salnés Valley, committed to the recovery of nearly extinct and forgotten local red varieties, such as the caíño tinto used to make this surprising wine that the Club brings to you. Their vineyards are planted in granitic sandy-clay soils, at an altitude of 100 meters above sea level. The Atlantic influence on the climate is pronounced, with mild temperatures and high rainfall, so to protect them from humidity and to facilitate the sun's rays reaching the clusters, the vines are planted on pergolas or trellises.
Attis Caiño Tinto 2018 is made from a manual selection of the best fruits from these vines and was aged for 12 months in new French oak barrels. Its production was very limited (only 570 bottles). The elegance, freshness, and good acidity it exhibits make it an ideal red wine from the D.O. Rías Baixas to accompany grilled red meats and traditional fish stews like marmitako.
Attis Caiño Tinto is an olfactively complex wine with vegetal and herbaceous notes.
On the palate, it stands out for its fresh acidity and velvety tannins.
