The flagship wine of a great Ribera del Duero winery
Arzuaga Crianza 2023 is the new vintage of a wine that is a true classic in the D.O. Ribera del Duero and one of the best-selling wines in the region. The quintessential wine from Bodegas Arzuaga Navarro. Elegant, refined, and subtle.
Arzuaga Crianza 2023 is the most sought-after wine from Bodegas Arzuaga Navarro. It is predominantly made from the tempranillo grape variety, with a small contribution from the French varieties cabernet sauvignon and merlot. The tempranillo mainly comes from the La Maquinilla vineyard, the oldest in the La Planta estate, the soul of the winery, located in Quintanilla de Onésimo (Valladolid) at an altitude of 911 m, with clay-limestone soils. The rest comes from century-old vineyards in the province of Burgos, cultivated on gravel and sandy terrain. After manual harvesting, the grapes underwent selection on sorting tables and fermented in stainless steel tanks. Finally, the wine was aged for 16 months in French and American oak barrels.
Founded by Florentino Arzuaga, Bodegas Arzuaga Navarro began its journey in 1987 in Quintanilla de Onésimo, in the area known as the “Golden Mile.” After starting the plantation of the La Planta estate (cultivated at 911 m altitude), it continued to increase its vineyard area to over 150 hectares and initiated the construction of facilities that are also a major wine tourism center. Today, this winery is led by the second generation, with Ignacio Arzuaga at the helm.
Arzuaga Crianza 2023 is a wine under the D.O. Ribera del Duero designation that pairs well with dishes like oxtail stew or venison loin with red berry sauce.

Creators' opinion
Arzuaga Crianza presents a cherry red color with violet hues, clean and bright. Powerful nose with a high aromatic diversity, dominated by ripe red fruits, followed by spicy touches and balsamic notes, with a roasted finish. Great volume on the palate, providing smooth and persistent honeyed sensations thanks to its great breadth and length. On the palate, the complex aromas of the nose return. These connotations give elegance and personality to the wine.
Bodegas Arzuaga Navarro is one of the quality benchmarks of Ribera del Duero and one of the great wineries of our country. It produces modern wines with a fruit-forward expression, powerful yet elegant and balanced, and with a marked character of what a great Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero has to offer.
The brilliant journey of Bodegas Arzuaga Navarro began in the early nineties thanks to the determination of Florentino Arzuaga, a hospitality entrepreneur who sought to establish a cutting-edge winery project on the banks of the Duero. To achieve this, he chose one of the most privileged areas of this production zone, which was then in full expansion: the municipality of Quintanilla de Onésimo (Valladolid), in the area known as the “golden mile” of Ribera del Duero, where illustrious names such as Vega Sicilia and Finca Villacreces are located.
The winery's first vineyard was planted in the early nineties at Finca La Planta, a 1400-hectare estate located a few kilometers from the facilities, at an altitude of over 900 meters on clay-limestone soil, giving it very particular characteristics. Finca La Planta today hosts 70 hectares of vineyards.
In addition to La Planta, Bodegas Arzuaga Navarro owns other estates in the municipalities of Quintanilla de Onésimo and on the plateau of Olivares de Duero, and continues to undertake new plantations, all organically farmed.
Furthermore, Bodegas Arzuaga Navarro has become one of the main wine tourism destinations in Ribera del Duero: it features a hotel, spa, and restaurant, as well as offering visits to Finca La Planta, where deer and wild boar can be spotted.
