General Information

Anna de Codorníu is a brut Reserva cava that will delight lovers of national bubbles, with a great particularity: it was the first to use chardonnay grapes in its production, one of the three varieties that form the legendary champagne triad. Its name is a tribute to the wife of the pioneer Miquel Raventós, the last woman to carry the Codorníu surname.

With almost five centuries of history behind it, Codorníu boasts of being the “winery that invented cava,” a title that, although merely honorary, clearly illustrates the enormous importance this giant from the Penedès has had in the development of the national wine scene. In the mid-19th century, a trip by Josep Raventós to Champagne forever changed the destiny of sparkling wine in Spain. Today, cava is admired worldwide.

Anna Blanc de Blancs Brut Reserva can be enjoyed both as an appetizer with charcuterie and pâté, as well as during the meal, with baked fish such as salt-crusted salmon. It will also pair perfectly with Asian food like fried rice or tuna sushi.

Tasting notes

In sight, it presents a beautiful straw yellow with golden iridescence, very bright, with fine bubbles and good crown formation.

Complex and intense on the nose, where aromas of ripe white fruit (pear, apple) are appreciated along with spicy notes (pepper, curry) and hints of citrus.

On the palate, it is fresh, tasty, and slightly creamy, with very well-integrated bubbles. It shows a long finish with an elegant aftertaste of lemon peel.
