General Information

The chardonnay grapes that supply the cava Anna de Codorníu Icónica Chardonnay Brut come from estate-owned vineyards located in Segrià (Lleida), one of the most continental areas of the D.O. Cava. This climate promotes a slow ripening process, resulting in grapes with higher concentration, lower acidity, and exceptional aromatic intensity. Viticulture follows integrated production criteria, with sustainable practices adapted to the production of high-quality sparkling wines. Harvesting is carried out at night, before mid-August, to preserve the freshness and aromas of the grapes as much as possible.

Anna de Codorníu Icónica Chardonnay Brut is crafted using the traditional method, with a second fermentation in the bottle and a minimum aging of 9 months on lees. After a careful selection of the grapes with the greatest aging potential, a controlled fermentation is carried out between 16 and 18 ºC. Subsequently, the wine is bottled with the tirage liqueur and undergoes a second fermentation in Codorníu's underground cellars. After disgorging, the expedition liqueur is added, defining its brut dosage, and it is sealed with a cork stopper.

Codorníu is synonymous with history and innovation. Founded in 1551, it is the oldest winery in Spain and a pioneer in cava production. Anna de Codorníu, its most iconic range, pays tribute to the last heiress of the Codorníu family name and was the first to incorporate the Chardonnay variety into its blend. This line represents femininity, elegance, and innovation, with Anna Icónica Chardonnay Brut as its ultimate expression: a pure cava, unfiltered, reflecting the essence of the house. Made exclusively with organic chardonnay grapes, this brut cava stands out for its freshness, creaminess, and refined aromatic profile. Perfect for those seeking a versatile, gastronomic, and characterful sparkling wine, it is ideal both for toasting and accompanying a special meal. Its versatility makes it an excellent pairing for gourmet tapas or dishes such as seafood paella or smoked salmon.
