General Information

The wines from La Casa Maguila taste like bolero, and Angelitos Negros 2022 is a sweet, harmonious wine with pleasant sensations. This young red wine offers the best of the fruit and a measured winemaking process that provided it with pleasant toasted and spicy notes, as well as a fresh and creamy finish.

Made 100% from tinta de Toro grapes from vineyards between 10 and 40 years old, Angelitos Negros embodies the spirit of the family winery based in Venialbo (Zamora), which combines organic and biodynamic viticulture, innovation, originality, and tradition. The creation process of this magnificent red wine included selecting the best fruits from their Las Tijeras estate, fermenting 30% of the whole berries at a controlled temperature, pressing them at low pressure, and after moderate stabilization, culminating in bottling.

La Casa Maguila is the personal project of Jesús Peña, a commercial director turned viticulturist and winemaker, who in 2009 decided to value his family's winemaking tradition and set out to make his own wines. He chose the family nickname of Maguila, which was once carried by his father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and with their old vineyards and the wisdom and experience of renowned enologists Pepe Hidalgo and Ana Martín, he began to bring to light creations that are irresistible to the public for their freshness, fruity character, and modern profile, much like the timeless boleros he is fond of. Angelitos Negros 2022 (D.O. Toro) is one of his latest proposals, a red wine perfect for enjoying with all kinds of appetizers, tapas, and pinchos, but also with white and red meats and traditional dishes like fried eggs with ham.

Creators' opinion

The winery
