Altos Ibéricos Crianza 2022 is the emblem of the Torres family in Rioja. The prestigious Catalan winery arrived in Labastida, in the heart of Rioja Alavesa, in 2005 to craft exceptional wines that capture the history and potential of this region. This is the essence of this single-varietal Tempranillo.

Altos Ibéricos Crianza 2022 takes its name from Alto Otero, the area where the winery is located, in Labastida. It is made from manually harvested tempranillo grapes and aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels - a small percentage is aged in new barrels - and an additional 12 months in the bottle.

Originating from Penedès, Torres is a brand with over 150 years of history, currently encompassing nine wineries in Spain and two more outside the country. It is, in all likelihood, the most famous Spanish winery worldwide. Furthermore, it is one of the few major wineries that remains 100% family-owned. In 2005, the Torres family established a new project in Labastida, at the heart of Rioja Alavesa, drawn by the potential of its tempranillo vineyards.

Altos Ibéricos Crianza 2022 is ideal for pairing with lamb dishes, from roasts to chops, as well as pork-based recipes. You can also enjoy this red from the D.O.Ca. Rioja with Iberian cured meats, eggplant parmesan, or tapas.

Creators' opinion

Altos Ibéricos Crianza boasts a dark cherry color, well covered in layer. Intense and fragrant, with delightful fruity aromas (raspberry jam) and spices (green pepper), with notes reminiscent of toasted bread. On the palate, it is warm, with velvety and juicy tannins, refined by the aging process.

The winery

Torres Essentials is the wine division of Familia Torres mainly focused on the retail channel. Winemakers in the Penedès since 1870, this division brings together the brands that Don Miguel Torres Carbó, a member of the third generation, turned into winery icons in the mid-20th century, adapted to modern times, together with new proposals designed to be enjoyed by consumers around the world. All of them represent Spanish and Mediterranean wine culture, combining the family’s winemaking heritage and environmental commitment with innovation to meet consumer needs and respond to new global wine consumption trends.
