General Information

Altos Ibéricos Crianza 2019 takes its name from Alto Otero, the location of the winery in Labastida. It is made from hand-harvested Tempranillo grapes and aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels - 7% of which are new barrels - and 12 more months in the bottle.

Originating from Penedès, Torres is a firm with more than 150 years of history, currently comprising nine wineries in Spain and two more outside our country. It is, in all likelihood, the most famous Spanish winery worldwide. Moreover, it is one of the few large wineries that remains 100% family-owned. In 2005, the Torres family established a new project in Labastida, in the heart of Rioja Alavesa, attracted by the potential of its Tempranillo vineyards.

Altos Ibéricos Crianza 2019 is ideal for pairing with lamb dishes, from roasts to chops, and pork recipes. You can also pair this red wine from the D.O.Ca. Rioja with Iberian cured meats.

Creators' opinion

Dark cherry color and well-covered. Intense and fragrant, with delicious fruity aromas (raspberry jam) and spices (green pepper), with a pleasant note reminiscent of toasted bread. On the palate, it is warm, with velvety and juicy tannins, refined by aging.

The winery

The Torres surname has been linked to winemaking in the Penedès region since the 17th century, although the official founding date of the winery is set in 1870. Generation after generation, this company, based in Vilafranca del Penedès (Barcelona), has remained in family hands, becoming today, quite possibly, the most well-known Spanish winery in the world, with a presence in over 150 countries. A winery with a portfolio of globally renowned brands.
