Acusp 2021 is a magnificent red wine made entirely from high-quality pinot noir grapes, sourced from vineyards planted at an altitude of 1000 meters within the D.O. Costers del Segre. The care of the vineyard through organic farming, its manual harvest, careful transport in 10 kg boxes, and its malolactic fermentation in barrels make this wine a great mountain red, a true high-altitude wine.

Acusp 2021 is a spectacular single-varietal red wine made from pinot noir grapes sourced from the estate's own vineyards located in Pallars Jussà, in the heart of the Pyrenees in Lleida. These vines are planted on loamy-limestone soils at an altitude of 1000 meters, cultivated following the principles of organic farming. All these factors contribute to creating a fine, smooth, and elegant wine.
Castell d´Encús is a personal project by Raül Bobet, established in 2001, focused on the utmost care of the vineyard, with passion, dedication, and respect for the environment. It is one of the wineries producing wines at the highest altitudes in Spain, with great sun exposure and surrounded by forests. Added to this is the special character of its loamy-limestone soils, which, combined with a climate featuring significant temperature contrasts, yields high-quality grapes.
This magnificent red wine, produced under the D.O. Costers del Segre, is hand-harvested and transported to the winery in small 10 kg boxes. At the winery, it undergoes malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels, is neither filtered nor stabilized, which may result in some sediment. The result is a great mountain wine, a high-altitude wine. Acusp 2021 pairs perfectly with grilled turkey or chicken, game birds, roasted turkey, spiced fish stews, casseroles, and roasted chicken.
Ruby red color with slight bluish reflections, medium layer, clean and very bright.
Subtle and seductive nose, it presents floral aromas alongside red fruits, such as strawberry and raspberry, berries, pepper, clove, violets, cocoa, toasted notes, and mineral hints.
On the palate, it is an elegant, smooth, silky, and fresh wine, with great balance, very polished tannins, and a long, persistent finish. Red fruit, licorice, and anise with a fresh cherry note on the aftertaste.
Castell d´Encus was founded in 2001 by Raül Bobet, who sought land in the Catalan Pyrenees to mitigate the effects of climate change on vineyards. It is located in the Pallars Jussà area (Lleida), a predominantly mountainous region.
The altitude of the estate, situated in a mountainous area of the Pallars Jussà region (Lleida), reaches up to 1000 meters above sea level in some parts. It is a location with good sun exposure and surrounded by significant forested areas. Nearby, there is also a historic site consisting of a chapel and ancient grape fermentation presses carved into the stone by the Hospitaller monks in the 12th century.
Out of the 95 hectares of the estate, 23 are planted at high density with a variety of grapes, including cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot, pinot noir, syrah, petit verdot, sauvignon blanc, riesling, semillon, and albariño. The rest is preserved as forest.
With a philosophy committed to respecting the environment, no herbicides, insecticides, or chemical products are used, except those permitted in organic farming. Castell d´Encús is also the first winery to use geothermal energy for heat-cold transfer in all its processes, designed to operate by gravity.
Finally, it is worth noting that the harvest is carried out manually in small 10 kg boxes, with grapes sourced exclusively from the estate. Subsequently, the musts are fermented in various materials, such as wooden vats, stainless steel tanks, and natural stone presses.
